Seasons Turning

As each year draws to a close and the airways fill with Christmas music, it may be nice to hear a song honoring the more ancient celebration of this transitioning of seasons. So I give you Seasons Turning. Add your own tune.
Seasons Turning
For longer days we’re yearning, so celebrate with us the sun returning.
Till then we’ll keep the fire burning, while we keep our minds learning
how to live with the seasons turning.
Seasons turning, turning. (Not as cold as we first feared.)
Seasons turning, turning. (Not as dark as first appeared.)
Seasons turning, seasons turning, seasons of your life.
What’s your season today?
My night is not so long when I get up right at dawn,
making the most of light by day.
My day ends on mark as I fall asleep by dark,
by the warm embers where I lay.
More time I get to rest when the darkness is at its best
on this longest night.
I get up feeling renewed with a refreshing attitude
at morning’s first sunlight.
Seasons turning, turning. (Not quite as cold as first felt.)
Seasons turning, turning. (Not long till the ice will melt.)
Seasons turning, seasons turning, seasons of your life.
What’s your season tonight?
Our food stores now are filled as all life has quietly stilled
to rest with all the land.
We’ve done all that we need so we’ll have enough to feed
everyone in our band.
So we sit around the fire sharing stories that inspire
us to adapt warmly to the cold.
Love then warms our hearts as we learn our parts
letting spring to soon take hold.
Seasons turning, turning. (With the melting ice and snow.)
Seasons turning, turning. (Even in winter do we grow.)
Seasons turning, seasons turning, seasons of your life.
What’s your season right now?
Seasons turning, turning. (Turns your life in motion.)
Seasons turning, turning. (What is your emotion?)
Seasons turning, seasons turning, seasons of your life.
What’s your season even now?
For longer days we’re yearning, so celebrate with us the sun returning.
Till then we’ll keep the fire burning, while we keep our minds learning
how to live with the seasons turning, seasons turning, turning even now.
This is your season now.
