Advocacy to address formal power relations
Advocacy support addresses needs impacted by certain formal power relations.
A power relation exists when one person holds influential power over the other. The powerless one is identified here as the reporting impactee (RI). The powerholder is identified here as the ascribed or acknowledged impactor (AI). If you are impacted by the power relation more than you impact it, you are the RI. If you impact the power relation more than impacted by it, you are the AI.
You see yourself as a mere voter. You find yourself fully vulnerable to your elected representatives and the vast bureaucracy of government. In the face of such political power you are a Reporting Impactee.

YOU
Politically homeless?
You personally know how divisive politics distracts from solutions.
Political power tends to focus more on protecting its own interests than accountably using power to resolve politicized needs. This is called mission creep, on a mass scale.
Together with the power of love, we are going to change that. With one transformative loving step at a time. As we co-create a need-resolving alternative grounded in mutual respect for every human being, we might even render the old divisive ways obsolete.
The problem is built into the very structure of divisive politics. We will not perpetuate its structural errors by personally opposing those on the opposing political side. We invite them, indeed, we compel them, to join us on this higher moral road of mutual need-resolving. Or we delegitimize them, and then refuse to permit them to have any sanctioned involvement in our honored lives.
You know you are wrongly convicted. You find yourself fully vulnerable to the impersonal criminal justice system, and to prosecutors slow to admit errors. In the face of such judicial power you are a Reporting Impactee.

ADVOCACY: 1. Powerless & 2. Powerholders
Power relations easily distort outcomes.
How much power do you really have to resolve your personal large-scale needs? You must rely on mass institutions like politics and the judiciary for needs you cannot resolve on your own. You must vulnerably submit to others for such needs.
“Power is not actually power unless it resolves needs. Otherwise it is just coercive force.”
Value Relating is a pioneering service to bridge the powerless and the powerful. Both sides work together using our Impact Parity Model.

PREP phase team
1. You start with a goal and a cause.
You may never reach your goal without advocating
first for the structural changes of your cause.
Your goal is to bring your particular politicized need to the attention of political powerholders with the means to do something about it.
Your cause is to replace divisive political norms, which you know results in preventing large-scale needs from fully resolving, with the conciliatory approach of Harmony Politics, which prioritizes resolving each other's politicized needs with the power of love.
You initially meet with Value Relating's professional advocate. As indicated by your expressed needs, you also meet with a guiding counselor. Your professional advocate focuses on external power pressures beyond your personal control. Your guiding counselor focuses on internal psychological dynamics still within your control.
2. Together, we prepare an advocacy campaign.
You build support for your passionate cause
among those who could benefit from it.
Conventional wisdom assumes you must work first on yourself before you can make any meaningful change upon the world. We confront this as a false dichotomy. By using love as our guide, we do both simultaneously. You address politicized needs while you address the structural barriers overlooked by our overemphasis on individualism. We avoid bouncing between unhealthy extremes.
Campaign leader
You address your goal through a passionate pursuit of your cause. You work with your guide and advocate to prepare your cause campaign.
Guiding counselor

Professional advocate

"What if I cannot find enough supporters to reach each price level?"
Start at a pace you can afford
If you as the RI cannot raise enough initial support to reach the opening weekly price, you can still start small. We then help you start small to work your way forward. Refer to this chart for how much we can do for your at your price point.
Proceed at the level you can afford
If the campaign leader cannot reach the weekly price, but only half or less, their campaign proceeds without autonomy. The campaign guide and advocate retain a 50% voting bloc.
If the campaign leader cannot reach the weekly price, but more than half, their campaign proceeds as semi-autonomous. The campaign guide and advocate retain a 25% voting bloc.
When the campaign leader reaches the weekly price, their campaign proceeds with full autonomy. The the campaign leader reaches a 50% voting bloc. The campaign advocate (with the campaign guide's input) only votes to break any tie.

Twofold Campaign
As the powerless gain courage to speak truth to power, the powerholders gain vital branding data when they listen to those impacted. Each side needs the other. Advocacy campaigns make sure powerholders need the powerless more than the powerless need powerholders. You can see this in each step of the campaign.

SPEAK TRUTH TO POWER

GUIDE
rely on opposing generalizations for easing pain of needs vulnerable to shared or public resources
resolving specific needs on all sides to remove pain that seeks generalizations for relief, stopping this vicious cycle
SUPPORT
You cannot attract sufficient support for your legislative initiatives as opposition complains you're too biased
both sides win when their needs can resolve, including meaningfully giving others a turn at public resources
ADVOCATE
liberals & conservatives are always at odds, reasoned arguments and ballot box mediates differences
needs of both Left & Right linked to differing priority of needs, best sorted by direct communication of needs
IMPACTEE
If powerless in a power relation, we say your are the Impactee. You are impacted by the relation more than you impact it.
You likely avoid complaining directly, lest you risk some unpleasant consequences. How can you tell them how they painfully impact your needs?
If you feel this way, are others also enduring in silence? How can you all turn what seems to be a negative relationship into a more positive one?
By speaking truth to power
in a way they would want to listen to those impacted.

IMPACTOR
If powerful in a power relation, we say your are the Impactor. You impact the relation more than you are impacted by it.
This may be the first time you heard any complaints from those under your influence. How were you to know you had this impact on their needs?
If they feel that way, are others like them also keeping silent? How can you turn what seems to be a negative relationship into a more positive one?
By listening to those impacted
in a way encouraging them to speak truth to power.
